Guide for Reviewers

The European Journal of Medical Practitioners (EJMP) values the contribution of reviewers in maintaining the quality, credibility, and integrity of published research. Reviewers play a vital role in the evaluation of submitted manuscripts by providing objective, constructive, and timely assessments.

Reviewer Responsibilities

Reviewers are expected to:

  • Evaluate manuscripts fairly and impartially.
  • Provide clear, evidence-based comments and recommendations.
  • Maintain the confidentiality of all submitted materials.
  • Declare any potential conflicts of interest before accepting a review assignment.
  • Complete reviews within the requested timeframe whenever possible.

Evaluation Criteria

While reviewing a manuscript, reviewers may consider the following aspects:

  • Relevance to the journal’s scope
  • Originality and significance of the work
  • Clarity of research objectives
  • Appropriateness of study design and methodology
  • Accuracy of data interpretation
  • Quality of writing and presentation
  • Adequacy of references and supporting literature
  • Ethical compliance and research integrity

Review Recommendations

Reviewers may recommend one of the following decisions:

  • Accept without revisions
  • Accept with minor revisions
  • Reconsider after major revisions
  • Reject

The final publication decision remains the responsibility of the Editorial Office.

Confidentiality

Manuscripts received for review are confidential documents. Reviewers should not share, distribute, discuss, or use any unpublished information obtained through the review process for personal or professional advantage.

Conflict of Interest

Reviewers should decline invitations to review manuscripts if they have any financial, academic, institutional, or personal relationships that could influence their judgment.

Constructive Feedback

Review reports should focus on helping authors improve their work. Comments should be professional, respectful, and specific. Personal criticism of authors is inappropriate and should be avoided.

Ethical Concerns

If reviewers identify possible plagiarism, duplicate publication, data manipulation, ethical misconduct, or other concerns, they should promptly inform the Editorial Office and provide supporting details whenever possible.

Recognition of Reviewers

EJMP appreciates the valuable time and expertise contributed by reviewers. Their efforts support the publication of reliable scientific literature and help strengthen the quality of scholarly communication within the medical community.
