The European Journal of Medical Practitioners (EJMP) is committed to upholding the highest standards of publication ethics, research integrity, and responsible scholarly publishing. The journal adheres to the recommendations of the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE), the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE), and internationally recognized principles of ethical publishing.
This Publication Ethics Policy applies to all authors, reviewers, editors, editorial staff, and publishers involved in the publication process.
Authorship should be limited to individuals who have made substantial intellectual contributions to the conception, design, execution, analysis, or interpretation of the research. All authors must approve the final manuscript before submission and agree to be accountable for the accuracy and integrity of the published work.
Individuals who contributed to the research but do not meet the criteria for authorship should be appropriately acknowledged.
Authors must submit original work that has not been previously published or simultaneously submitted elsewhere. All manuscripts are screened using plagiarism detection software before peer review.
Plagiarism, duplicate publication, self-plagiarism, fabricated citations, and any form of academic misconduct are strictly prohibited and may result in rejection, correction, or retraction.
Authors should maintain accurate records of the research data supporting their findings and make such data available upon reasonable request where permitted by ethical, legal, or institutional requirements.
Where appropriate, authors are encouraged to deposit research datasets in recognized repositories to promote transparency and reproducibility.
Datasets used or generated during the research should be properly cited in the reference list whenever applicable. Data citations should include persistent identifiers such as DOIs whenever available.
Proper citation of datasets enhances transparency, reproducibility, and recognition of research outputs.
Authors must appropriately acknowledge all sources that have influenced the research. Previously published work, ideas, figures, tables, images, software, or datasets must be properly cited.
Permission must be obtained for the reproduction of copyrighted material where required.
Authors, reviewers, and editors must disclose any financial, personal, institutional, academic, or professional relationships that could influence the objectivity of the research or editorial process.
Where conflicts exist, appropriate measures will be taken to ensure an impartial evaluation.
Research reports should provide an accurate, honest, and complete account of the work performed. Methods, results, analyses, and conclusions should be presented with sufficient detail to allow replication where appropriate.
Authors should avoid misleading statements, selective reporting, and manipulation of research findings.
Research involving human participants must comply with internationally accepted ethical principles, including the Declaration of Helsinki and applicable national or institutional regulations.
The dignity, privacy, rights, and welfare of research participants must always be protected.
Research involving animals must comply with recognized international and institutional guidelines for the ethical care and use of laboratory animals.
Authors should clearly state that appropriate ethical approval was obtained and that efforts were made to minimize animal suffering.
Authors are responsible for conducting research in accordance with accepted ethical principles and applicable regulatory requirements.
Studies involving vulnerable populations, identifiable human data, biological specimens, or sensitive information should include appropriate ethical safeguards.
Research involving human participants or animals must receive approval from an appropriate Institutional Review Board (IRB), Ethics Committee, or equivalent regulatory body before the commencement of the study.
The manuscript should clearly identify the approving institution and approval number where applicable.
Authors must confirm that informed consent was obtained from all participants involved in the study.
Where identifiable patient information, photographs, or clinical details are published, explicit written consent for publication must also be obtained.
Clinical trials should be prospectively registered in a publicly accessible and internationally recognized clinical trial registry before participant enrollment.
The trial registration number and registry name should be included in the manuscript.
All authors share responsibility for the integrity, accuracy, and authenticity of the published work.
Corresponding authors are responsible for ensuring that all co-authors have reviewed and approved the final manuscript and that all required ethical declarations have been completed.
The journal does not tolerate research misconduct, including but not limited to:
Allegations of misconduct will be investigated in accordance with internationally accepted publication ethics procedures. Where appropriate, institutions or funding agencies may be notified.
When minor errors that do not affect the overall scientific validity of a published article are identified, the journal may publish a Correction (Erratum or Corrigendum) to maintain the accuracy of the scholarly record.
Articles may be retracted when clear evidence demonstrates that published findings are unreliable due to research misconduct, major errors, unethical research practices, plagiarism, duplicate publication, or other serious violations of publication ethics.
Retractions will be clearly identified and remain permanently linked to the original publication to preserve the integrity of the scholarly record.
Editorial decisions are made independently of commercial interests. Advertisements, sponsorships, or promotional activities shall not influence editorial content, peer review, or publication decisions.
All advertising must be clearly distinguishable from editorial content and must comply with applicable legal, ethical, and professional standards.
The Editorial Office reserves the right to request additional documentation, ethical approvals, raw data, informed consent forms, trial registration details, or other supporting information whenever necessary to verify compliance with ethical standards.
Failure to comply with the journal's ethical requirements may result in rejection, withdrawal, correction, retraction, or other appropriate editorial actions.
The European Journal of Medical Practitioners (EJMP) is dedicated to promoting integrity, transparency, accountability, and excellence in scholarly communication. These principles guide all editorial, peer-review, and publishing activities and support the journal's commitment to publishing reliable, ethical, and high-quality medical research for the benefit of the global scientific and healthcare communities.
